Teen girl makers! Sundays, Sept. 15, 22, Oct. 6, 13. 10-12PM

Grow your maker skills in this class for 12-15 year old girls that meets on Sundays for 4 consecutive weeks. Sundays, September 15 & 22, October 6 & 13. 10-12PM. Come be a part of this group and make empowering and exciting metalsmithing projects each week! We will begin with making stamped jewelry, then we will work with acid and resist to make etched cuff bracelets, we will work with the rolling mill to create unique textures, and we will round out the class by learning about and using jewelers saws to make something of your own design and choice. We will use professional grade metals and all materials are included in the fee. No experience is necessary before enrolling in this group and each student will be approached with acceptance and patience as they grow in their abilities, and explore their own creativity within specific metalsmithing skills.

Please be familiar with our policy page and understand that while all are welcome and accepted at The Metal Smithery, we do reserve the right to ask a student to leave as soon as needed if they are putting themselves, others, the tools, equipment, space, or building at risk due to behavior that is not responsible or respectful. Safety and success for all, is a main focus at The Metal Smithery.

Please note: We will need to end promptly at noon (and 3) due to the beginning time of the following classes. Please make sure you are able to pick your child up at noon or make arrangements for car pooling, etc. The Metal Smithery is located in the South Hill Business Campus and TCAT bus #11 makes a stop at the building. As long as the instructor knows beforehand, your child can be released to take the bus as necessary.

Please wear closed toe shoes, clothing that does not have flowy sleeves and won’t get in the way, as well as clothing that can get dirty or ripped, and please make sure that all hair is pulled away from the face.
